Can a dog have asthma or breathing problems?

Other people asked questions on various topics, and are still
waiting for answer. Would be great if you can take a sec and
answer them

Can a dog have asthma or breathing problems?I have a beagle. We have noticed the last couple of years that she has heavy breathing. Not all of the time but most of the time it kind of sounds like wheezing like if someone were to have asthma. She has had allergy problems to where we have had to take her to get allergy shots to take care of that. The "asthma" has never been a problem so we have never asked the vet what it is. So the original question is if a dog can have asthma. Is there any treatment? Thanks

Yes. But breathing problems can be caused by other conditions too such as obesity.
Best bet is your vet.

sure!

I think my friends dog has asthma, she starts randomly wheezing loudly.
To be safe, maybe take him/ her to a vet.
Good Luck! (:

Yes, dogs can have asthma. They can have many things humans have, also. Like seizures and diabetes. I am not a doctor and I dont know if your dog does infact have asthma, or may have something deeper than that. Therefore, I can not give you any types of treatments.
But my advice is: Go to your vet. Breathing is a basic necessity. And if your dog is having trouble breathing, you should have him checked out.
