Please help! I have trouble breathing while running around?I would really like to know the answer to this question so if anyone could please help me, that would be fantastic!

I do a lot of sport. I love to run around and do swimming especially play Netball. It is lessened in swimming but when I run for a long amount of time at such a high intensity, my heart pulse beats very fast and strong, I hyperventilate and it feels as though my lungs are constricted.

When I went to my doctor he said that I had Exercise-Induced asthma and prescribed me a puffer (Asmol). He said to do it immediately when I have an asthma attack and also to prevent it to take it 30 minutes before the game. When I did that, it seemed to get rid of my "asthma" attack in less than 10 seconds. When I calmed myself down, this also worked in the same amount of time.

What should I do and what do you think it is...asthma, anxiety or what?

Please help me!

My son has the same problem when he does strenuous activity. I took him to the doctor and he said that my son gets bronchial spasms. The first time it happened to him he was 10 and that was 4 years ago. He was so scared he said he thought he was going to die. Just make sure you keep your inhaler on you at all times just in case.

well asthma is the inflamation of particles in the lungs and causes you to have trouble breathing and an inhaler will help correct that problem. But as far as the rapid heart it is normal after a sporting activity. So, I don't think you are having anxiety problems

Sorry to say its sounds like the doctors right..it happened to me...Im a paramedic and about 6 years ago i was working out and have been for years..all of a sudden one day while working out i got short of breath and went to the doctor he told me the same thing...

on the up side it hasnt happened to me in years so hopefuly it will get better for you... I think being aware of it helps it get better.... I wish i had a better story but good luck with it..keep doing what your doing ..your lungs will get stronger
