when i was about 11, i went to the doctor for a chest cold..?they ended up giving me an enhaler, even though i didnt have asthma. Now im 18, hoping to become a pilot in the USAF. i play football, baseball and im in marching band and ive never had breathing problems. When i went to get my swine flu shot, the said i couldnt get it because i "had asthma". you cannot be a pilot with asthma history. is there a way i can get the "asthma" off my medical record?

This is a very "tricky" situation for many patients who were diagnosed as children as being "asthmatic". Unfortunately, many cases of simple reactive airway disease are mislabeled as asthma. Many years ago, physicians were unaware of the medicolegal ramifications of attaching this label to young patients.
It seems that you may be in the mislabeled category but you still need to get that "diagnosis" cleared from your record in order to be eligible for military service.
The answer to your dilemma is to see a pulmonologist(specialist MD) who can administer a series of tests(spirometry and the methacholine challenge test) to "disprove" the presence of "asthma" and update your medical record with a statement that you do not have asthma.
