Other people asked questions on various topics, and are still
waiting for answer. Would be great if you can take a sec and
answer them

Worried about taking a new inhaler..?Just been to the doctors because just before sleeping i get a slight wheeze and tightness around my throat. and i've been perscribed Symbicort 100/6. i was using my blue Salamol Easi-Breathe at nights before this.
and after reading up on the side effects of symbicort and seeing "SYMBICORT contains formoterol, a long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA). Medicines containing LABAs may increase the chance of asthma-related death." on the website. im not quite sure if i want to take it!

Yes LABA medications have that warning. But the manufactures of these items say it is safe when combined to a steroid like in Symbicort and Advair. If the doctor thinks this medications will be good for you, then try it. If you have an increase in symptoms, call your doctor or your local emergency number.

If you are still worried, go back or call your doc and ask if he would switch it to just the steroid. Pulmacort is the steroid in Symbicort. Or another steriod like Flovent or Asthmacort.

Just a note, I have seen hundreds of people on Symbicort with no problems or complaints. In addition, you would be surprised if you read all the warnings on all your medications.

I've been on symbicort for a year now and I'm not dead. It's pretty safe to take however if you feel worse after taking it see your doctor.
