6 years old with a chronic cough for more than a year?

Other people asked questions on various topics, and are still
waiting for answer. Would be great if you can take a sec and
answer them

6 years old with a chronic cough for more than a year?My daughter has had a nasty cough for over a year now. It is driving us both crazy!!! I've tried everything to get rid of it and have gone to countless doctors. 1st they thought it was asthma and that medicine didnt' work. Then they saw that she kept having reoccurent strep and turns out that was mrsa. She was on a number of antibiotics and the mrsa kept resisting it. Then finally she was on Rifamin. The cough went away for a few weeks. In that time, her tonsils (where they found the mrsa) were removed and adenoids. Then the cough came back. The doctors did not retest her for Mrsa b/c they said it's highly unlikely that the cough is due to that. So they have had her on different allergy medication for the past 4 months with none of it working. She is currently taking 5mg of Singulair at night, 10 mg of loratadine in the morning and at night, delsym twice a day and flonase 1 spray in each nostril in the morning. I took her to the doctor's today and they said they will swab her for the mrsa again, but they don't think that's the cause. They also said, that there is no cure for allergy's and her cough will probably never go away. I find it hard to believe that it's normal for a little girl to have a cough for this long. And if it's only "allergies" why won't they update her vaccines until she's "better"?

Please help!
Worried mom
See that's the thing. If all she has is allergies and she's not ill then, why won't the update her vaccines for school? They don't even want her to do an allergy test b/c they said it's useless. I don't get it. And I'm consulting strangers to see if they've had the same issue with their child and found a solution or went about it another way. Fortunately, Webmd was more helpful and I have more options. Thank you.

There actually is a cure for allergies. http://www.allergytx.com/

Nate, I have no idea why the website says, "AAT does not cure allergies," other than possibly a legal thing—perhaps it has to do with FDA rules about claiming to diagnose and treat diseases.

If it's not a legal disclaimer type of thing, and they really mean it, I'd like to know what they mean by that, and I've emailed them to ask. Because AAT does completely eliminate allergic reactions, and the treatment lasts long term, and possibly for life, unless possibly there is a new major stressor on the body.

To Christina, why are you so intent on your daughter getting the kindergarten vaccines? She obviously has some major health problems, so why would you want to stress her body even more? She can still go to kindergarten, of course. If her doctors don't want her vaccinated, one of them will sign a medical exemption. Even without a doctor's note, an unvaccinated child can go to school if the parent writes a statement to the school that vaccines are against their personal or religious beliefs.

Sorry if this sounds insensitive, but why on earth would you look to strangers on the internet after "countless" doctors have consulted you?

They don't like giving vaccines to people who are "ill."

So Lisa likes a bit of woo, does she? That is a surprise.
