Asthma attacks? Chest pains...?I had three asthma attacks in the past 24 hours and I my doctor told me years ago I only have "slight asthma" in the spring because allergies. I have horrible chest pains and my throat hurts. I am going to get checked tomorrow but what all could this be? Lung cancer? I am in tobacco smoke a lot considering people in my house smoke...my first asthma attack happened in the car with tobacco smoke, and i was scared because the car almost flipped. The second and third at home when i was thinking about stress in my life.. Don't judge my household please, I would honestly just like an answer on what this seems to be; Thank you.

Unless you go to a respiratory therapist and get extensive breathing testing, you'll know better than your doctor how bad your asthma is. I did go to a lung specialist and was told at age 14 that I had "severe" asthma and was put on heavy doses of inhaled steroids and other daily medicines. I've only had maybe 4 or 5 actual "attacks" in my entire life, though I get short of breath easy. I smoke socially and have never had any trouble with tobacco, despite my "severe" asthma. My little sister, on the other hand, has "mild to moderate" asthma, though she has a fairly scary attack at least once or twice a month, and she cannot be around any kind of smoke at all. Even camp fire.
If you're having trouble breathing, definitely tell your doctor. And if you aren't already seeing a specialist, ask for a referral. The best thing you can do is keep a journal of when you have symptoms so you can identify triggers and avoid them. And also get yourself a rescue inhaler, if you don't already have one (Abuterol is the most popular).
I must also note that, just like some kids grow "out of" asthma, other people can grow "into" it. I didn't have my first asthma symptoms until I was 12. I'm now 18 and they are even worse.
You mention having the attack after being "scared" and after "thinking about the stress in my life." While stress can indeed be a trigger for asthma, it is also possible that you are having panic attacks. Again, this is only something you can talk to your doctor about. But I would definately do so. And if your doctor excuses your symptoms for nothing, go to a different doctor. When my sister was 10 years old and 200 lbs, we had to go to 6 different doctors before one actually believed that she didn't eat too many potato chips and realized that she actually had a thyroid disease that would have killed her had it gone untreated.

It sounds like your suffering from an accumulation of bad air particles in your home. I'm not a doctor, but I do know that tobacco smoke and other air particles can cause asthma attacks. I would recommend having a professional install a hyper hepa filtration system. if you see my site below, you can get more information about it. My company installs one of the best air purifiers on the market. Before purchasing an air purifier, I would make sure that it meets these standards, so you can breathe easier. Hope this helps!
