Help, do you think I should have my daughter tested for leukemia???My 7 year old has "severe allergies and severe asthma" so the doctors say. And I believe them but the have my daughter on 4 diff medications and she still gets sick ALL THE TIME..I mean like tonsilitis and strep and can't fight off a simple cold with out help from the doctor.. She also has the stomach pain and bruises very easy also she is always tired and falls all the time (triping over air). I'm sure she has asthma and allergies but I feel like there has to be an underlying problem. Let me know your opinion and if u think it could be something else feel free to tell me. The meds she is on are clarition, singulair, rhino court(nose spray),and advair disk if that helps at all.....

I don't know if those medications are interfering. But you need to call your pediatrician and explain to them what is going on.

Are her joints loose? There are other issues besides leukemia that it could be. If your concerned have her tested BY blood for a cell count. I would not suggest to go for the bone marrow just yet. IT IS EXTREMELY PAINFUL!.

I also think she needs to get her tonsils out, the strep and frequent colds would most likely almost disappear.

I had strep 22 times when I was 8 had them removed and never had it since and I'll be 19 next month.

whatever it takes get her tested for everything i have a friend who just got tested because she gets sick alot and yep its definately cancer so safer is always best what about her white blood cell count?

It might be just because her immune system isn't up to par yet. She's at that age where her immune system is just getting primed to all the stuff out there. We weren't born being immune to everything; our body has to learn how to deal with them.

I was also a sickly child and my doctor then found that my lymphocyte count was relatively low. After a couple years, I was tested again and it increased to normal levels.

Don't shake off your intuition though. If you feel she needs to be tested for leukemia, then tell her doctor. Better to find out now than when it's too late.
