I have recurring chest pain?

Hi,I did the following:

I have recurring chest pain?I have had recurring chest pain for about 3-4 weeks. I have tried antacids and other things for heartburn but I am not sure that is the problem. The pain comes when I am at rest and also sometimes while lightly exercising ( I have not been strenuously recently due to the weather because I cannot go jogging. My family has a history of heart related problems on both sides and this does make me a little concerned. I am 23 and slightly overweight but I did play soccer in college so I am in ok shape. In college I was diagnosed with exercise induced asthma but the medicine that the doctors gave to me did not help out as expected. After trying several medicines for my "asthma" they told me that the shortness of breath that I had was probably due to my weight, even though throughout college I was never more than 15lbs over my recommended weight. With everything that has been going on I am starting to suspect that I have a heart problem. I never had chest pain during my time playing collegiate soccer but I did experience dizziness after intense workouts with the team. I never thought much of it until I starting having these chest pains recently. So my question is, do people think I should get this checked out / have an idea what this is or am I just being a hypochondriac

Chest pains are usually caused by pinched muscles in the back for the back muscles often send the pains around the body on the nerves to become pains in the chest, rib,or heart areas. Something has happened to cause the muscles to be pinched but you can get rid of the pains by freeing your back muscles up and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

you should see a doctor. if you have and your doctor is not helping, as for a referral to a cardiologist. i have asthma and have worsened symptoms when it is cold. it doesn't cause my chest to hurt though... just an uncomfortable, can't breathe type of feeling.

you should see a specialist. if the asthma meds did not work for you, there is a chance that it wasn't even asthma. if the doctor did not look into why you were having the symptoms, you should find one who will. if you are having pain and rest and with light exercise, i can't imagine that you would be able to do strenuous exercise comfortably, or safely. being a few pounds 'overweight' won't be a reason to give you chest pain... unless there are underlying causes. a doctor should not give you that as a reason for chest pain.

you are not being a hypochondriac. you know how you feel better than anyone else. trust how you feel and find a good doctor who will help you find out what is going on :)
