Periodic breathing in 3 month old?

Asthma Info edited the following:

Periodic breathing in 3 month old?My daughter seems to suffer from "periodic breathing". She has been this way since the day she was born.

Lately, I've noticed it a lot more. She will start to breathe really fast, then slow down, then pause between 2-7 seconds, then resume breathing normally. This happens at least 5 times an hour.

My question is, when will this go away? And is it normal for it to happen that many times in a row?

I bought an Angel Care Monitor and she has never stopped breathing for more than 10 seconds, so I know it isn't apnea. She has never turned blue nor has she had trouble starting up on her own.

I just don't want this to develop to SIDS. I'm extremely paranoid and barely sleep.

It's most likely perfectly ok. Some babies do this
