what is proper gym ettiquette in this scenario?i was at the gym this morning and i was using an ab crunch machine, and i was doing my thing only for a few minutes, and i noticed a personal trainer and her client lean on the weight bench behind me. there is a mirror so i can see behind me. so im just doing my sets pausing for a moment in between.....and they are still there looking around whispering to eachother, etc. but then i see they are staring at me and i am getting a ll weirded out b/c WHO wants to get stared at while working out? gross!! so i turn around and say, "are you waiting to use this?" and the PT said "yes we want to work in a few sets" so i was like "oh, okay, well i have asthma so it was taking me longer" and she said "can i work in a set while you rest" then i said "i will do one more (12 ct.) and then you can have it" so i did then left.
shouldn't they have said they wanted to work in from the begining? i have never had that happen before and i made me feel so weird that i left. i dont know what was ettiquette here!! all i know is i was being watched while i work out and that isn't cool. i feel akward now to see the PT, who looks like a dude btw. are you supposed to say something from the start or wait for the person to get the hint, which is weird!!! "okay let me stare & make this person uncomfortable until they ask me if i want to share this sweaty piece of equipment!"
(i report rude/insulting comments)

Well, I don't think it is your fault, since you cannot read their minds.
And I think it isn't their fault either, because maybe they thought you were almost done or they didn't want to bother you working out.

But still, it's rude to stare.....
