Anyone know what the IgG4 means with allergy test results? And how this may relate to Autism? My friends son has autism and his test results came back stating that the IgG4 was extremely high and the specialist told her "We don't know what this means?" And it seems to me that someone should know something about this. Oddly enough, his blood results came back the same way. Does anyone have any insight as to what this may mean?

IgG4 antibodies are involved in the inflammatory reactions in certain conditions such as allergies (including food allergies) or autoimmune diseases. A high level may indicate an allergic reaction or an autoimmune disease. It probably has no connection to autism.

Does he have dermatitis, asthma, hayfever, parasites, recurrent infections, or defiencies of the thymus gland? I would ask the doctor to check for parasites, yeast, and bad bacteria. These are typical in autism. IgG4 basically is an allergic reaction. Did you test for food intolerances ( IgG)?
check out this website for more complete information about high IgG4 and autism.
