Asthma Info: Can my son "grow out" of a certain allergy?

Hi,I did the following:

Can my son "grow out" of a certain allergy? My son is allergic to blueberries right now. I tried giving him apple blueberry baby food (Gerber Organic) at 7 months old and he broke out in serious quarter-sized hives all over his legs, arms and some of his belly. I haven't given him any since and no hives. He's fine with apples. I had to take him to the ER because of the hives and they prescribed him baby benadryl. It worked great. But, I'm kind of saddened with this blueberry allergy because I LOVE blueberries and something I've always enjoyed doing was going to a farm at the beach and picking wild blueberries with the family each summer.
Also, a really wonderful memory I have being younger was picking blueberries at the cabin we used to go to with my dad and his friend who recently passed away who was just like my second dad and we picked wild blueberries there also. Do you think it's possible that he could grow out of this allergy or when they have a food alelrgy as a baby, does it stay forever?

It's possible that he might grow out of it. Maybe wait until he's a bit older and try again.

I'd mention it to the dr the next time you go to see what they say.

Actually yes they can. When I was a baby I was deathly allergic to tomatoes and now I have absolutely no problem with anything containing tomatoes.
