Could I have an allergy to "Sugar alcohol" ???I am pregnant and have been trying to curb my weight gain by eating (recently) the Russul Stover's (sugar Free - made with Splenda) Candies... After only 3 pieces last night, I was plagued with horrific gas and I noticed this only happens after I eat this item. Of course I won't eat it anymore - unless I am willing to suffer for it - but I know I am not allergic to splenda as I drink it in my tea... But it said there was "Sugar Alcohols" in this product - which I don't recall having ever consumed. Is this something that could cause an allergic reaction? I know its the candy because its ONLY after I eat it........ Any info would be appreciated. Thank You, Meg - Tucson, AZ.

Does the candy contain sorbitol? Sorbitol is known to cause gas and eventually diarrhea (when eaten in excess). Honestly, you should cut out the sugar free candy and stick to a limited amount of the stuff. Or, eat more fruit, there's plenty of sugar there!
