Does it matter what kind of "medical ID" jewelry i buy?I have an allergy, and I want to buy a "medic alert" bracelet, but I have found some other jewelry makers online that make the same bracelets (companies like "Universal Medical ID").

Is there something special about the "Medic Alert" brand? Do doctors and hospitals prefer Medic Alert over other jewelry-makers?

Is there any reason I should buy Medic Alert instead of another brand, like Universal Medical ID?

Medic Alert is just the preferred Brand, as it is worldwide, and therefore if you're travelling abroad, even if the paramedics, or whoever, can't read it, they recognise the Medic Alert symbol. There is nothing wrong with other brands, as long as they are worn in the same place (as paramedics are trained to look for them), and therefore it really shouldn't matter!
