How can you overcome lung problems?

Asthma Info edited the following:

How can you overcome lung problems? My lungs are over-sensitive, weird, feel like they're chronically infected, and i already have asthma, but it's more than that. They react to anything and everything almost. If the air isn't totally sterile and clean and the right temperature....they react.
It's gotten so bad that they feel sore and heavy and just...not right just about all the time, and I can't even walk anymore long before I get winded and feel like I'm going to faint. That even gives them a huge "workout".

What can be causing this, or why are my lungs like this, and is there ANYTHING under the sun that I can do?

The doctors don't help because they're like "well your peak flow meter and xrays look good, so you're fine,"

but yet I feel like I mentioned above.

Is that all normal, even with people who have asthma...

or is it possible that my lungs are somehow damaged or in bad health, and can't handle everyday life anymore?

Maybe a bout of really bad colds, or ongoing asthma caused them to be this way?

I can't seem to get anywhere with doctors and I don't know what to do about this problem anymore.

sure the inhalers and asthma drugs OPEN them up...but they're STILL oversensitive, and seem over-stressed when I do just about anything...

and nothing seems to help with THAt.

Any advice? not sure what to do anymore.

Let me guess - they take you back to an exam room and you sit there 20-30 minutes before the doctor walks in. He then takes out and places on your finger and sees your oxygen level as being good - right? Next time demand he wait until you do some walking or better yet have them do a walking test on you. They will have your finger in a gage and walk beside you keeping watch as you walk. My oxygen levels were always fine too until I took that 7 minute walk. I lasted less than 1 minute and went home with an oxygen tank and I'm still on it. You have to stand up for yourself - something isn't right. If you are seeing a family doctor it may be time to ask for a lung specialist. Good luck.
