When taking a medication that say's "may cause drowsiness" when does the drowsiness wear off?I've been taking an allergy medicine and the pharmicist said to take it at night because it causes drowsiness. The medicine is a 24-hour medication, so does the drowsiness last as long as the medication is supposed to?

This affects everyone differently. In people that it does affect, it will last as long as the medication is in you. Normally, not longer than 24 hours.

For some people this is possible. I have some meds that cause me to be drowsy, but the drowsiness wears off after a couple of hours. Don't schedule any events for a couple of days until you find out how this medicine affects you. this way you can take a nap when you need to. You can always ask for a different medicine if this one affects you badly.

My experience with meds that say may make you drowsie, usually do that, you must also remember that if you are on other medication at the time of taking this med, if it is an over the counter purchase you should enquire from the Pharmacist if it is going to interact with your prescribed meds.
Several years ago, I had a very bad head cold, my late husband, got me some flu/headcold remedy tablets as I was so stuffed up, not thinking I took one and ended up feeling so drunk as they had reacted with my prescribed meds.
