Are American Curl cats good for allergy sufferers?I think someone in my family is allergic to cat and dog fur (dander etc.) and I was wondering if the American Curl (Short hair or long) would be good for allergies.
Please give me a straight answer! A.K.A. Don't say, "I don't know look it up". Thanks. lol

Not any better than any other breed of cat. So the answer is no.

American curls are like anyother cat, they are going to shed. If you frequently brush and groom the cat it should be fine. Here is some more information on them.

Not that I know of. I've never heard of them being low shedding.

I have bad allergies. No cat is good for me. I haven't heard that the American Curl is "better" than others. The ones that are more commonly referred to as being 'less" problematic are Rexes and Siberians. However, I still react to these cats too. I'm taking 3 drugs a day to live with my cat. Think for awhile before you ask anyone to possibly do that. It would be better to wait until you're out of the house.
