Does the word "DAIRY" printed on packaged food mean it has dairy in it?I'm talking specifically about a bag of Snyder's pretzels. On the front, it has a U with a circle around it (kosher symbol?) with the word DAIRY printed underneath. But here are the ingredients:
Unbleached wheat flour, water, salt, malt, dextrose, canola oil, yeast, soda
And the allergy information says: Produced in a facility that handles peanut butter.
So no dairy.

The Kosher for Dairy symbol means it can be eaten as part of Kosher Dairy meal, as opposed to a meat meal.
Under Kosher dietary laws - you can't have meat and milk at the same meal.
So it probably contains a milk derivative - I'm thinking it would be the dextrose.
Kosher dietary laws are more strict than allergies - if you are lactose intolerant you can eat these because it contains no lactose containing products.
