I have Oral Allergy Syndrome, does that mean I'm allergic to Vegetables?I'm allergic to all fruits and nuts, I read this sentence from Wikipedia " Oral allergy syndrome or OAS is a type of food allergy classified by a cluster of allergic reactions in the mouth in response to eating certain (usually fresh) fruits, nuts, and vegetables that typically develops in adult hay fever sufferers.[1] "
The doctor didn't tell me I was allergic to vegetables, but, I just ate lettuce while reading this article, and after I ate it my mouth started itching and I was a LITTLE short of breath, could I be allergic to Vegetables also ?

As a child, I was allergic to nearly all raw fruits and vegetables. I could only eat raw: apples, pears, onions, lemons, and berries. I was so allergic to watermelon that just getting the juice on my skin made me break out in a rash. I went to an allergist and had desensitization shots for my many pollen allergies. After being on the shots for five years, my oral allergy syndrome went away! Now I can actually eat salad and even watermelon and it does not bother me at all.
