My 7 week old son is allergic to "normal" baby formula, could this mean he will also b allergic to cows milk?On advice from our dr we have changed his formula to a soy based one and his symptoms have all cleared, will this mean that he will have an allergy to cows milk/dairy products in later life?

Nope doesn't mean he will have a milk allergy. Most babies that are on Soy formula do just fine on cows milk when they turn 12 months old. My boys had to be on soy based as well and now they drink milk like crazy. A babies tummy is just more sensitive so a lot of babies seem to have problems with milk based formulas.

I had my son on soy based formula because the normal formula upset his body too much. He was constantly fussy. He was better with the soy and now he loves cows milk. He has no problems. I'm not sure what type of allergic reaction your child had. I hope this helps.

most likely yes since normal formula is dervied from cows mild. its ok, there are tons of products out there, he will be alright.
