When a Dr gives you a shot in your rear for allergy's, What is it and does it cause any reactions? My eyes have been swollen for 3 months and very ugly. The DR. said he was going to give me the strongest shot available, but he was in a rush and I couldn't ask him if there is side affects. I don"t even know what the shot was! The office is closed today so I cant ask. If anyone has had this shot, does it work and how fast and any symptoms?

hydrocortizone is what it used to be, many years ago. i'm not sure if that is what they still use.

hydrocortizone over time will cause bone deterioration.

antihistamine, hydrocortisone ...as far as i am concern...no serious side effect except for cortisone if taken in a long period.

Sounds like he gave you a steroid shot. Steroids can usually knock allergies out. Shots get in your system quicker than oral meds...thats why he did it...smart doc.

Bet you'll feel better soon if your not already. Hopefully he gave you allergy meds to take to prevent this from happening again.
