What do you think my "team leader" is insinuating? I really don't know how to interpret this....This is for a telemarketing job btw. I was supposed to start work monday, but I woke up and my throat was closed (allergies). I left a voicemail on the main line (it's a huge place), and I didn't know if the msg got to him. So I went in on tuesday to tell him and let him see how sick I am.
He said to call back later this week to see if there is an opening for next weeks class, if not it'll be late may.
*When I call I plan on telling him that my boyfriend has decided to give me his position in class (although it's for different "teams" in the same department).

You just missed out on a spot, when you missed work that day. Really, you might be reading too much into this incident.

All you did was miss a spot in that class. There's limits to how many students per teacher, so just wait.
I agree, you are making too much of a big deal.

Sounds to me like they're trying to work you in.
If you piss them off, you'll lose it.
Be sick for awhile, take care of yourself, get better, and go to class. It's not any more complicated than that.

It sounds like he was not insinuating anything and he was making a fairly direct statement.
I wouldn't tell him anything about what you and your boyfriend are deciding. I would inquire instead since he is the leader.
Good luck at your new job. I sure couldn't do that kind of work!
