when they are talking about "exclusive breatfeeding"?for 6 months, they just mean dont feed them "meals " of solid food, right. they can still taste any food right. my four month old is plenty interested in food so i give her a chunk of whatever i am eating, usually fruits and veggies,, she just sucks on that chunk for a while. i figure thats alright seeing as neither mine nor her dad's family is allergy prone.

just do what you are doing! don't worry about sticking to someone else's guidelines or parenting mantra. if you are your baby are happy then you are doing it right!

It means no supplementing with formula. A taste isn't a full "meal", but you still need to be careful of what you are having your baby taste. You can exclusively breast feed and do solids, like say your baby is 6 months and starting news types of foods and textures, but you are still feeding only breast milk, basically, but never formula.

To answer your question, exclusive breastfeeding means that is your baby's sole source of nutrition. You are introducing solids, no matter how often, therefore you are no longer exclusively breastfeeding. And congratulations, Mom!
