is it possible to have a sinus infection with the only "stuffy" feeling being in the face and head?i've always had terrible allergies (nose and throat), but after moving from a humid state (virginia) to the dry desert of california, they got worse and my nose got REALLY dry. i usually have postnasal, still do, but now i also have that full stuffy feeling you get with a sinus infection in my face and forehead, and sometimes popped ears, is it possible for me to have a sinus infection, or could these just be different allergies? i feel fine otherwise, and i know sinus infections usually cause pain dont they? it takes FOREVER to get an ENT appt here, so i figured i'd ask in the meantime!

Yeah, u need to saline your nose daily .
Allergy season is here, and u are suffering like most humans.
Try home remedies first, rub some camphor on head and fill an empty drink bottle with hot water, put a hot rag under the bottle and try to feel better.

I've had my fair share of sinus infections. I do believe that to have a true 'infection' bacteria develops in the mucus which gets into the lungs eventually. Also the more colourful the mucus the more likely you have an infection! BIG GREEN...TIME TO CLEAN!!! This calls for a course of antibiotics. I think that just the 'stuffy' feeling is either pressure or the start of an infection.
Try acupuncture, that is if you are brave enough!!! I'm not sure I would be;-) My mothers friend who had terrible allergies (she was also a BIG smoker...)when for an acupuncture session. She went home and sat at the dinner table and complained about it being a waste of time and money. 1 hour later...she felt as if someone had turned on the 'taps' to her nose. She was streaming forever and went through boxes of tissues! After that she has never nearly had such bad problems w/ 'stuffiness' again!

You've probably got a bit of blocked sinus....if it's infected, you'll be blowing out green stuff....and lots of it!
