what percentage of women acquire bigger boobs while on "the pill" also known as birth control.?Okay so i am 18 and have a bad case of ovarian cysts. so my ob/gym is putting me on the pill. i really do not want to be on it b/c i hear many women get bigger in size not just in breast size, but bigger in general.
now i am also worried b/c i already get steroid shots for my really bad allergies .
please give me positive feedback

There isnt a set percentage as its hard to tell how many women react in that way bcoz evry woman reacts to each pill differently. If u start a certain pill and do feel that u are putting on too much weight then u can always change to a pill with a lower oestrogen level.

It's hard to say really.
The weight issue is a myth really. Except for depo is what my GYN said. If you eat right and exercise you'll be fine. I never gained weight.
However, I did go up 2 cup sizes from BC. I changed pills about 4 times because I had problems with some, and my boobs went from a B to a D.

In terms of "percentages" I don't know. I can only speak from my experience. I don't think my boobs got a whole lot bigger. I think over time, I went up one cup size. I did gain weight but I also started taking antidepressants not too long after that, so the weight gain might have been a combination of both the medication and the pill. I do know when I stopped taking it, I lost about five pounds. I got less headaches when I quit the pill a couple years ago. I had a hard time with the pill though because my hormones were off so I was on higher doses of estrogen (I think).
The nice option with birth control pills is that if you don't like the side effects, you can talk to your doctor about a possible lower dose, but I don't know how much that would help your cysts. Good luck!

The pill itself does not make you gain weight.
What happens is that the pill tends to give us cravings; just like when we're on our periods or pregnant. So lots of women end up eating more, and not even realizing they're doing it. Continue to eat and exercise like you should and it shouldn't make you gain weight.
