Where can i get Proffessional advice on "Atnoids" in a 2 yr. old child? My poor baby girl, has a problem breathing at night. She constantly seems sick and also suffers from allergies. At night she gasps for air, coughs, and wakes up crying. Its impossible for me to sleep also. I am constantly waking as she coughs or anything. HELP, i feel so bad for her and I cant go on.... without sleep much longer.
I have taken her to her pediatrician and he suggested "surgery" for the removal of the adenoid. I am so confused. Surgery is a major operation and for a 2 yr. old baby.

Take her to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist and ask about adnoids and tonsils. If it is a cough, you need a pulmonary specialist. What does her pediatrician say?

You need to get her to a pediatrician. If money is the issue, take her to a county hospital ER, don't let her suffer one more day.

My daughter suffered about the same thing as you have described with your child. Her condition turned out to be childhood asthma. Had to take her to a allergy specialist to find out what was causing her asthma to trigger. Hers turned out to be food allergy's. Usually they don't remove the adenoids and tonsils unless the child is having repeated infections of the throat and sinuses. It could be that they could just find out what your child is allergic to and put her on medicine for that and it might stop her coughs and stuff at night time.
