"Can I gain allergies from something that I wasn't allergic before"?

"Can I gain allergies from something that I wasn't allergic before"?I was eating carrots and then suddenly the taste afterward was like a chilly taste... and then my tongue started to hurt and then my throat ... I never had anything like that happen to me when I had ate carrots in the past .. so my question is Can I gain allergies from something that I wasn't allergic before?

yes, you can..
Well, kind of.
You're basically allergic to it in the beginning, you may have a reaction so minor, you don't feel anything, though.
The more you eat, the worse the reaction.
