Do you have a cure for an allergy to lime. (Not the fruit, the chemical)?

Other people asked questions on various topics, and are still
waiting for answer. Would be great if you can take a sec and
answer them

Do you have a cure for an allergy to lime. (Not the fruit, the chemical)?chemical lime is used to mark the lines on the baseball field. does anyone know of a "cure" or remedy for the rash caused by an allergic reaction to it?

Some allergists are able to do desensitizations, but I'm not sure if Lime is one of them. I am familiar with the rash- my son get it. We've only had success with good old Benadryl... oral and topical. Even the steroidal creams from the Dr. did no better. We've also found it helps to NOT RUB or touch the dirt that gets on you.. use a towel to knock it off if possible.

You should make a recommendation to the league or school that they change from lime to talcum or chalk due to allergen problems. It's worth a shot, especially if you're out on the field a lot.
