Am I "diagnosed with asthma"? Can I still join the USAF ?so, when I was younger ( like around age 5 ) I was in great shape and didn't ever get weazy, or anything even after serious activity. But I gained quite a bit of weight during my pre teen years and got a perscription for an albuterol inhaler.. Because I would get weazy during exercise. Anyways the doctor wrote it off as "Exercised induced asthma".. I never was tested for asthma or anything.. At age 15 I stopped getting the prescription because I lost weight and found that I really didn't need it at all anymore. Also I have never ever had any sort of asthma "attack, episode, or tightness in my chest".. ( just a little weazy when I was fatter =P ) Anyways I was wondering if this would disqualify me from attempting to become a pilot in the airforce.
I can run miles without any effect ( tired of course ) but no asthma.
I know I could lie but I do not want to get thrown out of the USAF for some stupid lie about some child hood weazyness.. Anyways Please help me out !

The best way to know is to speak with a recruiter.

You would need a medical waiver for this. I got one but it wasn't easy.

you were 15 and stopped getting the prescription, best bet is to ask the recruiter, if the recruiter doesent seem to optimistic try a diff. branch, they have diff. standards for each branch, remember you can always be a pilot in the Army as well for helicopters.

Best bet is to ask they might give you a waiver or make you do tests at a dr. to see if you do not have asthma anymore.
