Doctor Not Properly Diagnosing Asthma?

Asthma Info edited the following:

Doctor Not Properly Diagnosing Asthma?About 4 years ago I started having major trouble breathing when I exercised. Once i determined it wasn't just being out of shape (wheezing, chest tightening, etc. and after not that much exercise, say one lap at an easy jog around a soccer field), we made an appointment with my doctor. I was given salbutamol sulfate to take before exercising and when I needed it, and sent for tests at the local hospital (by the time this happened it was about 3 months later). I don't know exactly what tests they did but I had to breathe in different stuff, they measured how much air i blew out/how hard after, and they asked me how hard it was to breathe after inhaling each thing (I know the first one was salt water, don't know about the other stuff). I went back to my doctor about 8 months after the initial appointment where I finally got the results of my tests, and was told that if anything I only had mild asthma. I was given another perscription for salbutamol sulphate to use as needed.
This summer (4 years later) it was quite bad. I haven't gotten in to see my doctor yet but I really feel like it's more than just "maybe mild asthma". I believe I have exercise induced asthma, although I have noticed that humidity, smoke, etc. will make it harder for me to breathe. Not asthma attacks, but it affects my breathing. With the weather changing at this time of year (one day 20 degrees the next day 12, etc.), it also makes it harder. I also play trombone and not only do I find it hard to take air into my lungs (I feel like my ribs can't expand, and I can't access more than about a third of my lungs most of the time, I've been taught how to breathe properly and I know the feeling because sometimes I can get it but it's really really hard to regularly), but I will sometimes get a tiny bit wheezy after playing.
Sorry, that was long and jumbled, I can't really organize my thoughts about this. But basically my question is, what is your opinion? Have you been in a similar situation? Recommendations for treatment or further tests? I am a 16 year old girl by the way with absolutely no health problems other than this and no allergies.

Asthma symptoms do not stay the same - they can progress and if you have been having symptoms this long, I would have already been back to my doctor to talk with him about this. It may be time for a maintenance asthma medication rather than a rescue inhaler. People's bodies change as they age. Asthma can change. You should have been talking with your doctor about your increasing symptoms. Make an appointment.

YESTERDAY FINE TODAY HEART ATTACK.

SHOULD DOCTOR HAVE TOLD PERSON YESTERDAY WHEN THEY HAD A CHECK UP?
ALL TEST WERE NORMAL.

OUR BODY CHANGES.

PEOPLE WHO HAD ALLERGY AT 6 TO 12 LIKE MAGIC NONE AT 13.
Asthma AT 6 GONE AT 7 BACK AT 10 OFF AND ON.

TEST IS WHAT ONE CAN GO BY.....
THAT IS WHY I RECOMMEND PEOPLE USE OR GET A SECOND OPINION ON MATTERS THAT REALLY MEAN "URGENT" TAKE CARE OF....

DOCTORS GET TUNNEL VISION... SAME LAB PEOPLE SEE SAME RESULTS..

GET FRESH EYES MINDS...
