How is global warming denial different from acid rain or air pollution denial?

Hi,I did the following:

How is global warming denial different from acid rain or air pollution denial? In 1990, a market-based cap and trade program to regulate sulfur dioxide was proposed as an amendment to the Clean Air Act to eradicate acid rain.

The same year, Concerned Citizens for the Environment (a spinoff group of the Koch-founded Citizens for a Sound Economy) produced "studies" arguing that acid rain was a myth and that deregulation would benefit the environment.

In 1997, the EPA proposed strengthening rules governing air pollution, regulating particles from coal plants and industrial plants which cause tens of thousands of premature deaths a year.

That year, Koch's Citizens for a Sound Economy filed dozens of reports opposing the proposed EPA regulations on particle pollution and ran ads across the country. One ad featured a "pediatrician" who said increased rates of asthma are not caused by the toxic particles, but rather by "dust mites, stuff like that." A second voice in the spot added: "Sounds like the bureaucrats in Washington are scheming to keep their jobs." Another ad from CSE claimed the EPA regulations would ban fireworks and backyard grills. "Imagine that," the ad stated, "a new government regulation that takes away our freedom to, huh, celebrate our freedom."

Since 2008 Koch has founded the Americans for Prosperity "Hot Air Tour" - a touring campaign to sow doubt about the science of climate change. A recent report found that Koch is the largest funder of climate science denying organizations in the world.

So what's the difference between these fossil fuel-funded denial campaigns against acid rain, air pollution, and global warming?

-Don't Panic
They have an easier time convincing people about global warming because it's not as tangible, it's something that you could ignore if you choose to.

like it's harder for your dog to deny that it shit on the floor, because it's like, right there. But if the dog farts, it could always just say "I didn't do it, I don't smell anything." But either way it's like, dude, it's there, it's reality, deal with it.

All I know is I want back my freedom to inhale asbestos fibers.
Dammit.

You have to admit that the fireworks regulations are a bit oppressive, though that's mostly state and local regulations.

Two differences. More is at stake in the present debate, and the damaging effects of added greenhouse gases are not immediately obvious in the same way that choking air, stinging eyes, and dying trees are obvious.

However, the professional denialist apparatus is very similar, as it was for the second-hand smoking denialist campaign, with some of the same characters involved.
