Asthma Info: What kind of illness do I have?

Asthma Info edited the following:

What kind of illness do I have?I am 31 years old. Since I was 9 I have had problems with "shortness of breath" (when I am breathing, each time I inhaled, it seems I don't get enough oxygen, so I had to take a deep breath to get more--sometimes this would help, sometimes doesn't). I'll get lightheadedness because of this. This has been going on and off since. Starting in my college years till now, with each occurrence, I'd experience pain on my right shoulder. I have gone through all tests (blood works, EKG, X-ray, even went for psychological counseling!). I was not anemic, no signs of leukemia, EKG is normal, X-ray is normal. But I still have this problem now and then, comes and goes, usually lasted from 2 weeks to a month. Recently, it seems to be worse than ever, my lightheadedness is so great that I feel very fatigue. I exercise moderately (I can't do too much because I'd black out), and I am not overweight. Do anyone knows what's going on with me coz the doctors I've seen are clueless?
I don't smoke, though when I was a kid my father and his friends smoke frequently while I was around. I don't have psychological problems. Though I do notice sometimes it happened when I stressed out, but sometimes it just happened. Could this be lack of certain vitamins? Or maybe hormonal changes?

this is a hard call. seems you need to see a respirtorary specialist or a cardiac specialist. whatever it is, is not being picked up on these tests and perhaps some MRI's need to be done. i would have thought your doctors wouldnt have given up on you after these tests if nothing was found when in fact a non-medical person can see something is wrong that hasnt been discovered. convince a doctor to do a MRI or other scan of your heart and lungs. not knowing the rest of your medical history i dont have a clue what else could be wrong aside from your heart and lungs. good luck and dont take no for an answer. this is your life we are talking about and your peace of mind.

Have you ever been treated for General Anxiety Disorder, and ludcris as it sounds, these sound very familiar to GAD.

Perhaps you should speak to your doctor about treatment for anxiety. Some times certain changes in the season can flare anxiety as much as stressful situations in life.

I promise you that if you start treatment for Anxiety you will feel worlds better.

You might be having psychosomatic disorder in which you feel everything but all physical examination and laboratory results are within normal.
Have you had normal childhood? Are your parents separated or is there any problem at home? You might be having neurocirculatory asthenia. When others engaged in a fight or have heard something like fighting parents or have problems, they usually inhale fast and feel difficulty in breathing.
I suggest that you consult a psyciatrist. Dont get me wrong , not only those with mental disorder consult a pyschiatrist. Those with insomnia, anxiety, depression also consult the psychiatrist.
Are you drinking too much coffee, alcohol or into drug addiction?
