Ask your Vet. Mine told me that cats & dogs can become allergic to MOST of the same things that humans do. Of course, we didn't specifically discuss cat dander so that's why I said to ask someone who'd really know.

Anjel: People are not allergic to cat dandruff. They are allergic to a protein (Fel d1) that is found in the saliva, urine, and glad secretions in cats. A cat would not be allergic to its own saliva. However, cats can be allergic to grasses and dust mites just like people. Their symptoms generally are not respiratory, but show up on their skin in the form of flaking skin, dryness, hot spots, or hair that falls out.
