cat allergy, any way to "get over it" or tips ?it relay sucks.
the only thing that i can find that helps is washing my face, arms and hands every few hours.
of course i try my hardest to not to come in contact with them. but friends have them...

any tips ?

i have the same. doctors told me i would have to get cat dander shots 3x a week for ever and always. i find that being around cats and petting them a couple of times a week helps your body get used to it.
also zyrtec is pretty bomb for clearing up hives and watery eyes.

Keep some benadryl handy :] Im the same way & my friends all have those nasty little cats.. do your best not to come into contact with them and don't rub your eyes if you do come into contact with them..

i find that getting rid of the cat is very affordable. it's easy as locking it out of the house, or take it far away from home and abandon it on the street.

Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. Wipe down surfaces, too, with a MOIST towel, to get all that dander up. AND the fine cat hair, too.

Get some wet ones (the moist towelettes) and wipe down the cat with them--it will reduce the dander. Better yet, have your FRIENDS do it.

BENADRYL. It does make you drowsy though.

To stay awake, take an ALAVERT every day--but you have to let it build up in your system. Takes a week or so.

Keep washing the face and hands and clothes when you can.

Good luck...it's a pain, eh?
