Is there a spice, that has a flavor similar to cinnamon, but could be eaten by someone with a cinnamon allergy? My daughter loves cinnamon but has a dreadful allergy. Is there a spice I could use to make "apples and cinnamon" or oatmeal cinnamon cookies without the cinnamon?

Allspice?

Is she allergic to allspice? It has sort of a nutmeg/cloves/cinnamon flavor.
Edit:
Be careful with cassia - it does taste like cinnamon because it is from a very similar plant. In fact, cassia is often sold as cinnamon. So, someone with a cinnamon allergy may very well also be allergic to cassia.

Cardamon is quite heavenly and could be said to have a certain bit of cinnamon taste. It takes very little cardamon to flavor things, but it is an absolute delight. I'm betting that your daughter will like it.

Cassia is a kind of spice that's really similar to cinnamon. It's sold the same way, usually ground up, and it's cheaper. Whole, it comes in the form almost of a clove. It's a bit stronger and darker than cinnamon so measurements will have to be altered to taste. I'm pretty sure that your daughter would be able to consume cassia without any side effects, however maybe consulting a doctor or someone like that before consumption would be just one more safe approach.
