Should I exercise if I have shortness of breath episodes due to anxiety? Two weeks ago I was weightlifting, but after I had my first anxiety attack episode a week ago from an unrelated thing, I'm a little bit concerned that I will "lose breath" faster if I exercise and induce an attack. So, is it safe to exercise? Will it help?

Exercise can actually help to prevent panic attacks. I would monitor yourself closely while exercising.
Perhaps call your doctor and they can help outline a plan to prevent anxiety with you.
Yoga really helps also.

I have an anxiety disorder and exercising is actually proven to make it better. It helps me. I know it's scary when you feel like you can't breathe, but it'll be okay. If the exercising gets to be too much, take a break and slowly sip water.
