Can you develop allergies after general anesthesia?Hi,
I was just wondering if it is possible to develop allergies after having general anesthesia. I went through an ankle surgery and shortly after I developed dust mite allergy and it never resolved (it's been 2 years). I also know another person who became allergic to alcohol after surgery. If general anesthesia caused this, then what changed in the body(of course except for the fixed ankle) and is it possible to "fix" it?

Of course we can develop allergies after being subjected to general anesthesia.
For that the best process of cleansing the body is by drinking plenty of pure and plain water at regular intervals of 1 hour. One must take 3 litres between 7am and 7 pm.
The next thing is to drink 1 camphor cube (available in a grocerry shop) dissolved in a cup of warm water once daily for only 3 days.
All problems will disappear.
THIS MUST NOT BE TAKEN FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS AS IT HAS OTHER SIDE EFFECTS.

*after* anesthesia, yes, but not *because* of anesthesia.
Just because two events occur within a similar time frame does not necessarily mean one caused the other.
Allergies come and go, and can start at anytime. My peanut allergy started when I was a teenager. Up until that point, I ate peanuts all the time.
In reality, your allergies are unconnected to the GA.

Wow, we get blamed for EVERYTHING.
Anesthesia does not cause allergies. Maybe being in bed, exposed to dust mites for more than usual led to your allergy. Or maybe it's a coincidence.
The only possible connection I could see is that the stress on the body caused by surgery (and mitigated by anesthesia) led to some changes in your immune system. But I doubt even that.
