What do you think my "team leader" is insinuating? I really don't know how to interpret this....This is for a telemarketing job btw. I was supposed to start work monday, but I woke up and my throat was closed (allergies). I left a voicemail on the main line (it's a huge place), and I didn't know if the msg got to him. So I went in on tuesday to tell him and let him see how sick I am.
He said to call back later this week to see if there is an opening for next weeks class, if not it'll be late may.
*When I call I plan on telling him that my boyfriend has decided to give me his position in class (although it's for different "teams" in the same department).

I wouldn't take the job.

He needed to fill he class, and get them to work
as soon as possible. First come, first trained and hired.

Bad move on your part. Do not jeopardize the boyfriend's slot or let your team leader even know you are affilliated with another employee. Push for your own position as you will get it. Your team leader is working with a "point" system as in how many successful candidates he can collect. Show determination, illustrate that you indeed had a temporary "health problem" which is over now and let's go on about the business of making those phone calls. Am telling you this from personal experience of working in a "boiler room" and "late May" is only a couple of weeks from now and if you make the extra contact, the guy or gal will be convinced of your sincerity.
