Why is the body's response to toxins always called "allergies"?

Hi,I did the following:

Why is the body's response to toxins always called "allergies"?"Allergic" to wheat, corn, peanuts, eggs, milk, seafood, gluten, corn, soy--the list just keeps growing and no one asks why! What if your body is just overloaded with toxins and is trying to reject them (and give you a warning to avoid those foods that are toxic because of pesticides or because they are GMOs)?

They aren't. An allergy is an over-reaction by the body to certain substances. Things like wheat, corn, peanuts, eggs, milk, seafood, gluten, soy and others aren't actually toxic; the bodies of people who are allergic to them are just misprogrammed into thinking they are. An allergic reaction isn't caused by those substances but by an allergic person's own body.

[An Allergy is a disorder of the immune system often also referred to as atopy. Allergic reactions occur to normally harmless environmental substances known as allergens; these reactions are acquired, predictable, and rapid. Strictly, allergy is one of four forms of hypersensitivity and is called type I (or immediate) hypersensitivity. It is characterized by excessive activation of certain white blood cells called mast cells and basophils by a type of antibody known as IgE, resulting in an extreme inflammatory response. Common allergic reactions include eczema, hives, hay fever, asthma attacks, food allergies, and reactions to the venom of stinging insects such as wasps and bees.]

{these reactions are ACQUIRED, predictable, and rapid.}

Allergies are much more prevalent in developed countries than in undeveloped countries.

Given the "natural" causes of allergies it is far more likely that, that because of our "antibacterial world" our immune systems are under-occupied and over-react to substances that we are genetically adverse to.

There are people who have chronic allergies that are actually (and successfully) infecting themselves with ring worm to give their immune system something to play with so it will quit reacting to every little thing like it is being invaded by monsters.
