Allergy shot reaction?

These are useful and collceted by Asthma Info!

Allergy shot reaction?I had an allergy shot yesterday about halfway between my shoulder and my elbow. Today I have an area of redness about 3 inches long by 2 inches wide that is filled with broken capillaries. There are also a couple of red "tendrils" that extend up to my shoulder and around my arm. At the end of each tendril are a couple of large hives. It is extremely itchy!

Anyone else have a similar reaction? What can I do to help control it? It just keeps spreading and the prescription steroid cream I have does nothing.
Whoa! I didn't realize it was such a big deal; this is only my second shot.

I called the doctor ASAP; he recommended ice.

I guess these shots just aren't for me. I'm getting the smallest dose possible... :(

Call the doctor! They should know that you were allergic to the shot that was supposed to help you with your allergies. They will be able to help you, but they can't do so if they don't know.

My allergy doctor says that if you have a reaction at the shot place what is greater than an quarter you should take benadryl and let them know, if it keeps getting larger or more red then come in to see them asap.
