Jason's experience at Bill Maher
Please allow us to introduce you to Jason Szumski. Always committed to staying in shape, Jason knew that something was wrong in early 2009. Deep down, he knew that the shortness of breath and dizziness he'd been experiencing weren't related to his fitness. The shortness of breath was worse when Jason was at work. Friends began to notice that Jason's face was turning purple when he'd bend down. It got bad enough that Jason ended up in the emergency room. Tests, scans, a biopsy. The good news: the doctors figured out why Jason's skin was turning purple. The bad news: the shortness of breath and skin discoloration was due to superior vena cava syndrome. Jason had a tumor on his heart large enough to stop the blood flow to his arms and head. More bad news: the tumor was cancerous. A month later, Jason's sternum was opened and the tumor was removed. Jason wasn't out of the woods yet. He still had to beat the acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). With iron will, Jason endured the atrial fibrillation caused by countless rounds of chemotherapy. Jason received a bone marrow transplant on October 15, 2009. Recovery from this bone marrow transplant made chemotherapy seem like a walk in the park. Jason was tired, shaky, nauseous, and his bones ached from the inside. "I have to believe that there is hope, hope for him to make a full recovery. I know it's his biggest dream of all. If I could make it happen, I would," says Karen. Jason's Front Row Experience On November 20, 2010, Front ...Asthma — Comprehensive overview covers symptoms, treatment of this
