Am I showing symptoms of asthma?

Hi,I did the following:

Am I showing symptoms of asthma?Okay, so my parents smoke a lot. My mom did when she was pregnant with me and all through my childhood and even to this day. But that's not the point, since like 3 years ago I have had a really tight feeling in my chest. It comes and go's. It comes when I run and when I use my brother's inhaler (he has asthma) I feel fine. Usually I wake up with it, and take the inhaler and I'm good. I mentioned it to my mom and she said "Of course you don't have asthma!". But I don't know. I'm a little wheezy but not bad. My chest is just tight and it's hard to breathe. I don't believe you have to be born with it, it can develop. But I'm not sure.

It can most certainly develop. Mine did...smoking is horrible to be around when you have asthma. There are many kinds...it can be genetic, or you can develpo it, mine personally is due to allergies. i would go tot the doctors to check it out..Yes it is possible for you to develop it later in life or you can be born with it. Sometimes it goes away as you grow older, sometimes it doesn't.

Actually, you are born with Asthma, but sometimes it will go unnoticed until something triggers it, like smoke, causing you to have daily attacks. Also, if your brother has it, its likely you have it too. See a doctor right away before it worsens, because asthma can be fatal. if your mom wont take you to a doctor, see a school nurse (if your in school) community center, or ask a grandparent/aunt/uncle/family friends to take you soon!!!
